The 2003 edition of the Indoor field hockey cup is the first edition of this competition. I occurred in February 2003, in Leipzig, Germany. The Eurosport TV channel covered the event, which had good ratings despite the late schedule.

This competition saw emerge countries not reputed as strong field hockey countries at the outdoor international level.
