In the Name of the Father is a 1993 film which tells the story of a man, falsely convicted of the Provisional IRA's Guildford pub bombing , who tries to prevent his father from being involved in the accusation. It stars Daniel Day-Lewis, Pete Postlethwaite and Emma Thompson.The movie was adapted by Terry George and Jim Sheridan from the autobiography Proved Innocent by Gerry Conlon. It was directed by Jim Sheridan.
