Until the mid 80's it was a small village of around 2,500 people but during the following years as the city of Rhodes got bigger and more densily populated Ialyssos became the first option for people that wanted to leave quitely.Nowadays it has a population of around 20,000 which doubles during the summer as in Ialyssos are situated a lot of luxury hotels.
