Humphry John Berkeley ( February 21, 1926 - November 14, 1994) was a British Politician.

He studied at Pembroke College, Cambridge and was President of the Cambridge Union Society in 1948.

Elected as a Conservative MP in 1959, he was the original sponsor of a bill to decriminalise homosexuality in the House of Commons in 1966.

He lost his seat in the 1966 election. In 1970, he joined the Labour Party and stood unsuccessfully as a Labour candidate in 1974 before joining the SDP in 1981 and fighting Southend EastSouthend-on-Sea is a resort town in Essex, England.
