The hummingbird hawk moth, Macroglossum stellatarum, is a species of hawk moth with a long proboscis, and is capable of hovering in place. These two features make it look like a hummingbird when it feeds on flowers.

The hummingbird hawk moth is active during the daytime and has a wingspan of 40-60 millimeters.

They are common in Mediterranean countries, as well as central Asia and Japan.
