Venerable Master Hsing Yun (born 1927) is the founder of the Buddhist organization Fo Guang Shan.
Hsing Yin was born in Nanjing. His organization founded Hsi Lai Temple in America, which is known to Americans mainly for a controversial visit by Al Gore in 1996. Hsing Yun is rather controversial in Taiwan and his detractors call him the political monk.
