The Hotchkiss School is a private, coeductional preparatory school in Lakeville, Connecticut , USA. It was founded in 1891 by Maria Bissell Hotchkiss with the encouragement of President Timothy Dwight V of Yale. It is set in 545 acres (2 kmē) of woodland and is in proximity to two lakes. As of the start of the 2004-2005 school year it boasts 561 students, over 200 faculty and staff, and an endowment valued at more than $285 million.1 Alumni include
