Horstmar is a German city, located in North Rhine-Westphalia north-east of Münster in the Steinfurt district. Population 6,743 ( 2002), geographical location 52° 5' North, 7° 19' East.

Its castle was built as early as the 9th century; the first mention of Horstmar is as early as the early 11th century.
