 Contents
The Hindu Kush or Hindukush is a mountain range in Afghanistan as well as in the Northern Areas of Pakistan. It was named during the times when Mughals were making influx into greater India, hence the name Hindu (meaning Indian). It is the westernmost extension of the Pamir Mountains, the Karakoram Range, and the Himalayas. It was previously known to Europeans as the Caucasus Indicus, a name given it by the Greeks, though this name is not widely used any longer.
