Hilversum is a municipality and a town in the Netherlands in an area called Het Gooi. It is surrounded by heathland, woods, meadows, lakes, and smaller villages.
Ankeveen, Blaricum, Bussum, 's Graveland, Hollandsche Rading, Kortenhoef, Lage Vuursche, Maartensdijk and Nieuw-Loosdrecht.
Hilversum lies some 30 km south-east of Amsterdam and 25 km north of Utrecht.
The town is often called " media city" as it is the principal centre for radio and television broadcastingNote: broadcasting is also the old term for hand sowing. The town has three railway stations: Hilversum Noord, Hilversum and Hilversum Sportpark.
