The episode began with SpongeBob preparing to get a job as a fry cook at the Krusty Krab , only that he's not brave enough, but with encouragement from Patrick, he now feels confident to get his dream career choice. The owner, Mr. Krabs, feels that he doesn't have the "sea legs" to be his new fry cook, and, in an attempt to get rid of him, he tells SpongeBob to get him a super-powered spatula. Shortly after SpongeBob is gone, a group of inpatient anchovies attack the restaurant, but SpongeBob, with the special spatula, arrives back at the restaurant, just in time to save the day.
