Hammondsport is a village located in Steuben County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 731.

1 Geography

Hammondsport is located at 42°24'32" North, 77°13'22" West (42.408873, -77.222779) 1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.0 km˛ (0.4 mi˛). 0.9 km˛ (0.3 mi˛) of it is land and 0.1 km˛ (0.04 mi˛) of it is water. The total area is 5.41% water.

2 Demographics

As of the census 2 of 2000, there are 731 people, 332 households, and 200 families residing in the village. The population density is 806.4/km˛ (2,088.5/mi˛). There are 388 housing units at an average density of 428.0/km˛ (1,108.5/mi˛). The racial makeup of the village is 96.58% White, 1.37% African American, 0.41% Native American, 0.41% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.41% from other races, and 0.82% from two or more races. 0.27% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
