Hamilton East is both a federal and provincial electoral district in Ontario, Canada.

1 History

The riding was an electoral district in Canada from 1903 to 2003 consisting of the eastern part of Hamilton, Ontario. In provincial politics it has been a seat in the Ontario legislature in 1894. It is considered a working class district. There is also a Hamilton East riding for election to the Ontario legislature. This riding elected the first Co-operative Commonwealth Federation MPP to Queen's Park, Samuel Lawrence in the 1934 Ontario election .
