Halton is the name of a federal electoral district in Ontario, Canada. Its population is 100,055. ( 2001)

1 Geography

The district includes the Town of Milton and the northern parts of the Town of Oakville and the City of Burlington.

2 History

The electoral district was created in 1996 from Halton--Peel, and Oakville--Milton.

There was also a district called Halton that existed from 1867 to 1987. It was an original district in the British North America Act, and consisted of Halton County until 1966. In 1966 it lost Burlington but gained ErinErin (population 11,000) is a town in Wellington County, approximately 80 kilometres northwest of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
