HD 169830 is a yellow dwarf star ( spectral class F8 V) in the constellation of Sagittarius, 118.46 light years from our solar system. It is known to be orbited by two large planets.

HD 169830 b is a gas giant three times larger than Jupiter. It orbits close to the star and its surface temperature must be very high. To judge from its composition and temperature, it probably appears blue, with a few sulfuric clouds. [1]

HD 169830 c is a gas giant two and a half times the size of Jupiter. Its orbit is entirely within the star's habitability zone. This means that its atmosphere would contain water vapour clouds, and any large moons with atmospheres might be capable of harbouring life. [2]
