The Gospel Music Hall of Fame, which was created in 1971 by the Gospel Music Association, is dedicated exclusively to recognizing meaningful contributions of individuals in all forms of gospel music.1 Partial List of Inductees
Some of the more significant inductees to GMA's Hall of Fame are listed below. A number of these artists are now dead, some long dead: nevertheless, they are recognized for their contribution towards their influence on gospel music and for the longevity of their work.

- Larry NormanLarry David Norman (born April 8, 1947 in Corpus Christi, Texas) was a member of the rock band People!. That band released its first album in 1968 and had a Top 20 hit with the song, "I Love You". Norman left the band and released his first solo album, Up (inducted 2001)

- PetraPetra is one the of the founders of Christian Rock music. The name Petra is from the Greek language meaning 'rock'. The band was founded by guitarists and songwriters Bob Hartman and Greg Hough in 1972, while they were studying at the Christian Training C (inducted 2000)
- Elvis PresleyElvis Aron Presley ( January 8, 1935 August 16, 1977), known as The King of Rock and Roll, or as just "The King", was an American singer who had an immeasurable effect on world culture. He started his career under the name the Hillbilly Cat and was later (inducted 2001)
- Homer Rodeheaver ( Billy SundayWilliam Ashley "Billy" Sunday ( November 19, 1862 November 6, 1935) was noted first as a professional baseball player, and then more famous evangelist. Born in Ames, Iowa, Sunday grew up the son of a single mother, and the family endured significant pover's music director, inducted 1973)
- Ira D. SankeySankey ( 1840- 1908) was an American Gospel singer and composer associated with evangelist Dwight L. Ira David Sankey, son of David Sankey, known as the father of Lawrence County, and Mary Leeper Sankey, was born August 28, 1840, in Edinburg, Pennsylvania (inducted 1979-80)

- Ethel WatersCarl Van Vechten, 1938 Ethel Waters ( October 31, 1896- September 1, 1977) was an African American vocalist who performed jazz, big band, gospel, and popular music, on Broadway and off. Waters was born in Chester, Pennsylvania and died in Los Angeles, Cal (inducted 1984)
