George Herbert Allen ( April 29, 1918 - December 31, 1990) was an American football coach in the NFL. His son George is a current U.S. Senator from Virginia.

He coached the Los Angeles Rams from 1966 to 1970, and the Washington Redskins from 1971 to 1977. He coached the Redskins to Super Bowl VII, where they lost to the Miami Dolphins.

He had the distinction of never coaching a team to a losing season. This was particularly notable in the case of the Redskins, which before he arrived scored only one winning season from 15.
