Genna (元和) was a Japanese era name after Keicho and before Kan'ei and spanned from 1615 to 1623. The reigning emperor was Go-Mizunoo.

1 Change of Era

Because of the enthronement of Go-Mizunuoo and disasters such as wars (The Battle of Osaka)

2 Source of Name

By order of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the name of the Tang Emperor Xian Zong's era was used.
