A container is dropped first container a gas. this is released at the target area, dispersing to form a cloud of gas. This gas mixes with oxygen in the atmosphere to form an explosive mixture. An ignitor device near the centre of the cloud can then light the mixture and produce a large explosion if the gas mixture is correct, and the cloud is not dispersed too much.
