Franz Ignaz Danzi ( June 15, 1763 - April 13, 1826) was a German composer and conductor, the son of a noted Italian cellist. Born in Schwetzingen, he worked in Mannheim, Munich, Stuttgart and Karlsruhe, where he died. He wrote more than sixty works in the musical period leading up to the Romantic era. He was a contemporary of MozartWolfgang Amadeus Mozart ( January 27, 1756 December 5, 1791) was one of the most significant and influential of all composers of Western classical music.
