Franklin County is a county located in the State of Washington. As of 2000, the population is 49,347. The county seat is at Pasco. It was named after Benjamin Franklin.

The median income for a household in the county is $38,991, and the median income for a family is $41,967. Males have a median income of $32,209 versus $24,533 for females. The per capita income for the county is $15,459. 19.20% of the population and 15.50% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 26.00% of those under the age of 18 and 7.70% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
