The Five Classics (五經, Wǔjing) is a corpus of five ancient chinese books used by Confucianism as the basis of studies. According to tradition, they were compilated or edited by Confucius himself.
  1. The Classic of Poetry (詩經, Shijing)
  2. The Classic of History (書經, Shujing)
  3. The Book of Changes (I Ching) (易經, Yìjing)
  4. The Classic of Rites (禮記 Lǐjì)
  5. The Spring and Autumn Annals (春秋, Chunqiu)
