The fedora is a soft felt hat with a crease lengthwise down the crown. It is usually worn by men, but ladies' versions can also be found.

Fedoras are very versatile and can be shaped in a variety of ways. They all have a crease along the length of the crown, but they are also commonly pinched at the front to leave two prominent depressions. The brim may be pulled up or down at the front and back, or pushed up on one side. The hatband may be a contrasting color, or match the hat. Fedoras are commonly made in black, beige or earth tones, but they are also available in a variety of bright colors like scarlet and blue.

The fedora is often associated with the prohibition-era mafia. It is the signature hat of Indiana Jones, and also tops off most zoot suits. Lubavitch Hasidim wear black fedoras.
