Fayette County is a county located in the U.S. State of Pennsylvania. As of 2000, the population is 148,644. Its county seat is Uniontown 6.

As of the census 2 of 2000, there are 148,644 people, 59,969 households, and 41,198 families residing in the county. The population density is 73/km˛ (188/mi˛). There are 66,490 housing units at an average density of 32/km˛ (84/mi˛). The racial makeup of the county is 95.30% White, 3.51% Black or African American, 0.11% Native American, 0.22% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.11% from other races, and 0.73% from two or more races. 0.38% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
