Home > FA Premier League 2003-04

The 2003-04 season of the FA Premier league began on August 16, 2003 and ended on May 15, 2004.

The season saw only three teams ( Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United) in contention for the title, developing a huge gap in points between themselves and the rest of the league from early on.

Arsenal won the league championship on April 25, 2004, with still 4 games in hand, and went on to go the entire season without losing a single game - a feat last achieved in the English football league's very first season, by Preston North End F.C. in 1888/1889, when only 22 games were played. Chelsea clinched the runners-up spot on 8 May 2004, which was their best FA Premier league result ever. Chelsea's squad was significantly revamped this season since the acquisition of the club by billionaire Roman Abramovich. Manchester United finished third on 8 May 2004. Liverpool F.C. finished fourth, and Newcastle United F.C. finished fifth.
