Frederick Robert Higgins ( April 24, 1896 - January 6, 1941) was an Irish poet and theatre director. He was born in Foxford , County Mayo, grew up mainly in Ballivor , County Meath and spent most of his adult life in Dublin.

Higgins was a friend of W. B. Yeats and served on the board of the Abbey Theatre from 1935 until his death. His best-known book of poetry is The Gap of Brightness (1940).
