F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault and Recon) is a first-person shooter computer game developed by Monolith Productions. It will be published by Vivendi Universal and is anticipated to be released on March 1, 2005 for the PC.

Story

"The story begins as an unidentified paramilitary force infiltrates a multi-billion dollar aerospace compound. The government responds by sending in Special Forces, but loses contact as an eerie signal interrupts radio communications. When the interference subsides moments later, the team has been literally torn apart. As part of a classified strike team created to deal with threats no one else can handle, your mission is simple: Eliminate the intruders at any cost. Determine the origin of the signal. And contain this crisis before it spirals out of control." - Press Release

It is unknown exactly what all the features of the game will be however featured in a demo video at was the use of bullet-time, an effect in which a player can slow down time. It stars Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishbur trilogy and the Max PayneMax Payne is a third-person shooter computer game developed by Finnish company Remedy Entertainment, produced by 3D Realms and published by Rockstar Games in July, 2001. A sequel to the highly popular shooter quickly followed entitled Max Payne 2: The Fal series of games.
