Eskimo Bowline
called a Sitka loop by some
Loop on the end.
Ancient.
The Bowline has the working end loop around the standing part. This knot has the distinction of having the working end loop around its own descending part, instead of the standing part as the bowline knot.
Non-jamming etc.
Unknown%
The knot formed in this manner has significantly greater bends or turns (engendering more stress and friction) than a standard Bowline; thus creating a much weaker knot. Neither this knot nor a standard Bowline (especially without a back-up or stopper knot)should be used for rescue, climbing or mountaineering because the single line will cause pain and possibly broken ribs. Bowline on a coil is much more comfortable and hence safer.
climbing, securing.
This knot may be slightly more secure than the Bowline but is a little less convenient to tie.
