Eduard Study (23 March 1862 - 6 Jan 1930) was a 19th-century German mathematician known for work on invariant theory of ternary forms ( 1889). Also for the study of spherical trigonometry. and for applications of group theory to complex numbers. The invention of the dual numbers is attributed to him.
