Edgemont is a Canadian television series that revolves around the everyday dealings of teenagers in Edgemont, a fictitious suburb of Vancouver, British Columbia. It has storylines that are very reminiscent of a soap opera, yet airs in seasons much like a primetime television program.

The 30-minute show, which has aired four seasons (as of January 2004) and will air its fifth and final season later in the year, delves into the lives of students at McKinley High School. The plots contain romance, intrigue, jealousy, and all the other elements characteristic of the adolescent and secondary school scene. They also explore various social issues, such as racism and homosexuality, that are important in today's world.

Edgemont debuted 4 January, 2001 on the CBC. It was created by Ian Weir , who also serves as executive producer along with Michael Chechik . It is shot in the basement of the CBC studios in downtown Vancouver.

The program has become quite successful in its home country of Canada, and since then has also aired in the United States (on the Fox Family Channel ). It also airs in several other countries, including France, where it is wildly popular (it beats Friends in the ratings).
