Edward James Kendricks ( December 17, 1939, Union Springs, Alabama - October 5, 1992, Birmingham, Alabama) was one of the lead singers of the American singing group The Temptations.

He began singing with Paul Williams in 1955 in Birmingham. They later moved to Cleveland, Ohio and then to Detroit, Michigan, where they formed The Primes. In 1961, they joined forces with members of The Distants and became The Temptations. Among the songs to which he lent his voice were " The Way You Do the Things You Do ," " Get Ready," and " Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me) ," his last song with the group.

Ten years later, in 1971, Kendricks left the group to embark on a solo career.
