The title of Earl of Lindsey was created in the Peerage of England in 1626. From 1706 its holders were also Marquess of Lindsey and from 1715 Duke of Ancaster and Kesteven, but these titles became extinct in 1809. With the extinction of the senior line of the Bertie family in 1938, the title was inherited by the Earl of Abingdon.Earls of Lindsey ( 1626)
