Duncan is located at 34°56'6" North, 82°8'5" West (34.934983, -82.134801) ¹.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 9.1 km² (3.5 mi²). 9.1 km² (3.5 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

This city is home to James F. Byrnes High School, as well as the District Offices of Spartanburg County School District 5.

2 Demographics

As of the census ² of 2000, there are 2,870 people, 1,125 households, and 811 families residing in the town. The population density is 315.7/km² (818.4/mi²). There are 1,274 housing units at an average density of 140.1/km² (363.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 65.68% White, 30.84% African American, 0.14% Native American, 0.66% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.67% from other races, and 1.01% from two or more races. 3.41% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
