Dinergy is the pattern-forming process of the union of opposites. It is a term coined by György Doczi . This pattern-forming can be seen throughout nature in the pattern of the florets that make up a daisy and the sections of the nautilus. What is seen in all these patterns in nature is what is called the Golden Mean, which the Golden rectangle is one fraction of this pattern. Dinergy is the concept that the Golden rectangle is made up of two unequal parts, a minor and major part that are joined in an harmonious whole. Dinergy is a combination of two Greek words: dia meaning "across, through, opposite"; and "energy".
The are many formulative parts to the pattern-forming. "Polarity referes to opposites but without indication that something new is born. Duality and dichotomy indicate division, but do not mean joining. Synergy indicates joing and cooperation, but does not refer specifically to opposites." (1) Dinergy, in the natural world, is the joining of opposites in the creative energy of organic growth.
