Ctenacodon is an extinct North American mammal that lived during the Upper Jurassic period. It's a member of the family Allodontidae within the order Multituberculata. Ctenacodon was named by Othniel Marsh in 1879Events January January 11 Anglo-Zulu War begins January 22 Zulu troops massacre British troops at the Battle of Isandlwana. At Rorke's Drift, outnumbered British soldiers drive the attackers away after hours of fighting. February February 12 At New York C. At least four species are currently recognized.

Remarks: The holotype, collected by Reed WH in 1880, is in the Peabody Mueum , Yale. Judging by the photo I've just acquired, the jaw is at least partially known, (Plate 1, Kielan-Jaworowska & Hurum, 2001).

Extra remarks: "Ctenacodon" brentbaatar is to be assigned to a separate genus, whilst the significance of Ctenacodon falconeri, (should it have any), is a mystery to me.
