A couch-dance is an erotic dance much like a lap-dance, except that the person upon which the dance is being performed is seated on a couch.

In most adult dance clubs, the dancers are not employees of the club, but private contractors who pay a set fee to perform and earn money by tips. Couch dances can vary in cost according to the quality of the club, but are generally between 10 and 50 dollars. This fee is actually a gratuity, as most dancers are not employed by the club but make their earnings through "tips and tips alone."
