Conker's Bad Fur Day is a Nintendo 64 game made by Rareware LTD, that was marketed as an adult platform game. It stars Conker the Squirrel, a Rare character who has appeared in other games, such as Diddy Kong Racing for the N64 and Conker's Pocket Tales for the Game Boy Color. Bad Fur Day featured scatological humour, violence and a penchant for parodies (an example being the levels with the Tediz, a race of evil teddy bears in lieu of Nazi Germany in a Saving Private Ryan parody).

Conker's Bad Fur Day was originally going to be titled, "Twelve Tails: Conker's Quest". Rareware had a reputation for making colorful, cute games for children, but all hell broke loose when Nintendo told Chris Seaver that the game wouldn't cut it, and it was way too kiddy for the N64. With money on his mind, Seaveor canned Twelve Tails, and re-hashed the graphics, and the plot, turning it into the adult game we love today.

Even though this game did excitingly well, in both the UK and US, not a lot of people appreciated it, because of its early 2001 release. A year later, the N64 slot welcomed its last game, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3. In 2005 it will be re-released on the Xbox as Conker: Live and Reloaded. This game will feature better graphics, more cutscenes (that were supposedly deleted from BFD), X-Box Live support, and two extra chapters.
