The Congolese Labour Party (Parti congolais du Travail), founded in 1969 by Marien Ngouabi, is the ruling political party of the Republic of the Congo. It was originally a pro- Soviet party, but moved towards capitalism during the first administration of Denis Sassou-Nguesso ( 1979- 1992).
