Come and Get It is a 1935 novel by American author Edna Ferber. A film version with the same title was produced in 1936.

The film was directed bu Howard Hawks and Richard Rosson . It starred Edward Arnold , Joel McCrea, Frances Farmer, Walter Brennan, Mady Christians, Mary Nash , Andrea Leeds, Frank Shields , Edwin Maxwell and Cecil Cunningham .

Set in the logging industry on 19th century Wisconsin, the story follows the fortunes of Barney Glasgow, played by Arnold and his love affairs with a saloon keeper played by Farmer, and after an absence of many years, with her daughter, also played by Farmer.

The film was a success and the dual role of mother and daughter brought Farmer excellent reviews, and made her a star in her first year in films.

It won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in the first year the award was presented, to Walter Brennan.
