Christian Identity is a label applied to a wide variety of militant pro- European and neo-Nazi pseudo- Christian groups. Their key commonality is British Israelism theology, which teaches that white Europeans are the literal descendants of the Israelites, and that the Israelites are still God's "elect". There are estimated to be about 50,000 adherents of these groups in the United States of America.

1 Ideology

Christian Identity asserts that the white Aryan race is God's chosen race and that whites comprise the ten lost tribes of Israel. There is no single document that expresses this belief system. Adherents refer to the Bible to justify their ideas.

2 Groups

Christian Identity groups include the Aryan Nations; Church of Jesus Christ Christian; Confederate Hammerskins ; Jubilee; LaPorte Church of Christ; Kingdom Identity Ministries; National Association for the Advancement of White People and White Separatist Banner. In sociology, a subculture is a culture or set of people with distinct beh individuals easily migrate from one group to another. This intermixing of organizations makes it difficult to discern a singular religious ideology or belief system that encompasses them. Nevertheless, Christian Identity is the most unifying theologyTheology is literally rational discourse concerning God ( Greek θεος, theos "God", + λογος, logos "rational discourse"). By extension, it also refers to the study of other religious topics. for a number of these diverse groups and one widely adhered to by white supremacists. It is a belief system that provides its members with a religious basis for racism and an ideology that condones violence against non- Aryans. This doctrine allows believers to fuse religion with hate, conspiracy theories and apocalyptic vision of the future.

Christian Identity groups have been investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation; their October 1999 Project Megiddo is the basis of much of this article.
