Chester, Nova Scotia, at roughly 44.54° North 64.24° West, is a coastal community in the South Shore area of Nova Scotia. It is one of the wealthiest communities in the province. It is a major tourism centre especially well known for being a base for yachting. The village is also home to the Chester Playhouse one of the best-known theaters on the South Shore. Outside the village is the Windjammer Restaurant , one of Nova Scotia's most famous restaurants.

It is the administrative seat of the Municipality of the District of Chester—the northeastern half, more or less, of Lunenburg County—and has a population of about 2000. It was officially founded in 1759 as the Shoreham grant, although French fishermen had already built a few houses on the site. The permanent European settlers were a group from Massachusetts in 1761.
