Charles Benjamin Bright McLaren, 1st Baron Aberconway, PC, QC, JP ( 12 May 1850 - 23 January 1934) was a Scottish Liberal politician and jurist.

Born in Edinburgh, McLaren was educated at the Heidelburg University (Heidelburg, Germany), Bonn University (Bonn, Germany), and Edinburgh University, from which he graduated with the degree of Master of Arts. McLaren's political career was much more interesting during his second term. In 1897, he was invested a Queen's Counsel, and in 1902 he was created Baronet McLaren, of Bodnant, county Denbigh. He was appointed to the Privy Council in 1902, and held the office of Justice of the Peace for Middlesex, Flint, Denbighshire, and Surrey. In 1911, one year after he was not re-elected to the Commons, he was created Baron Aberconway in the Peerage of Scotland.

Lord Aberconway received various honours throughout his lifetime, including: Order of the Sacred Treasure of Japan (3rd class), Order of Takova ( Serbia), and Commander, Order of the Redeemer ( Greece). He chaired many companies throughout his lifetime, and upon his death in 1934 at Bodnant, the Barony and Baronetcy passed to his eldest son, Henry McLaren .
