The Czech Social Democratic Party ( Czech: Ceská strana sociálne demokratická or CSSD) is the Social Democrat political party in the Czech Republic.After 1989 for the first time the party formed the government in 1998, under the leadership of Miloš Zeman, and is still in power now.
It won the elections of 2002 with 70 of 200 representatives in the lower house of the Czech Parliament. Its chairman Stanislav Gross is the Prime Minister of a coalition with two smaller parties, the Christian Democratic Union - Czechoslovak People's Party and the Freedom Union-Democratic Union. Former chairman Vladimír Špidla resigned in 20042004 is a leap year starting on Thursday (the link is to a full 2004 calendar), and has also been designated the: International Year of Rice International Year to Commemorate the Struggle against Slavery and its Abolition Elections are to be held in 73 co, after surviving a non-confidence vote by few votes.
