Central Ontario is the portion of the Canadian province of Ontario which lies between Georgian Bay and the eastern end of Lake Ontario.

Some districts or counties within Central Ontario may be considered part of other regions in some contexts. Simcoe and Dufferin counties are considered to be partially within Central Ontario, and partially within the Greater Toronto Area. Parry Sound District and Muskoka are within Central Ontario, but are treated as part of Northern Ontario by federal economic development programs because of these districts' special economic circumstances; Parry Sound, but not Muskoka, is now classed with Northern Ontario by the provincial government.

As well, Hastings and Prince Edward County may be considered either Central or Eastern Ontario by different sources, and all or part of Grey County and Bruce County, Ontario may be classed with Central or Western OntarioWestern Ontario is a region of Ontario centred on London, Ontario. It extends north to south from Lake Huron to Lake Erie, and east to west roughly from Kitchener to Windsor. Other cities in the region are Ingersoll, St. Thomas, Stratford, and Woodstock..
