Home > Canmore, Alberta

Canmore is a town in Alberta, Canada with a permanent population of 11,458 (2003 municipal census). Canmore is located a few kilometres east of Banff National Park.

The Canmore Nordic centre provides world class trails for use by mountain bikers and cross country skiers.

Although still considered a town, Canmore is larger than a number of cities in Alberta, and concerns over its urban growth in the midst of protected national and provincial park land has led the town's leaders to place a limit on future development; the town is expected to reach its maximum "build out" following the completion of the SilverTip and Three Sisters Mountain Village developments sometime around 2015- 2020.
