Camden County is a county located in the U.S. State of Missouri. As of 2000, the population is 37,051. Its county seat is Camdenton 6.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,836 km˛ (709 mi˛). 1,697 km˛ (655 mi˛) of it is land and 139 km˛ (54 mi˛) of it is water. The total area is 7.58% water.
As of the census 2 of 2000, there are 37,051 people, 15,779 households, and 11,297 families residing in the county. The population density is 22/km˛ (57/mi˛). There are 33,470 housing units at an average density of 20/km˛ (51/mi˛). The racial makeup of the county is 97.68% White, 0.26% Black or African American, 0.49% Native American, 0.29% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.22% from other races, and 1.03% from two or more races. 0.93% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 15,779 households out of which 23.80% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.80% are married couples living together, 6.60% have a female householder with no husband present, and 28.40% are non-families. 23.30% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.50% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
