In higher education, California Lutheran University (CLU) is an ELCA-affiliated university in Thousand Oaks, California. Only a minority of its student body is Lutheran. A large portion of the University's undergraduate students choose to earn degrees with a major in psychology.

As of 2004, CLU is a Common Application program participant.

To date, a scholarship offered by CLU is the Presidential Scholarship. One of the requirements for a student to earn this scholarship is to have a GPA of at least 3.75, and to have scored highly on either the SAT or the ACTFormerly the American College Testing Program or American College Test and now officially the ACT (pronounced A. the ACT is a college-entrance examination that emerged in 1959 as a competitor to the Educational Testing Service's Scholastic Aptitude Test ( (M. In fact, the mathematics requirements alone are nearly enough for a degree with a minor in mathematics.
