Cadbury-Schweppes plc (Cadbury Trebor Bassett) is a chocolate and beverage company. Jacob Schweppe developed a method to make mineral water in Geneva, Switzerland in 1783. In 1824, John Cadbury began vending tea, coffee and (later) chocolate in Birmingham, England. After his retirement, his sons Richard and George Cadbury created a major factory and purpose-built suburb called Bournville four miles south of the city. The two companies merged to form Cadbury-Schweppes in 1969.
