Borden County is a county located in the U.S. State of Texas. As of 2000, the population is 729. Its county seat is Gail 6. Borden is named for Gail Borden, Jr. , businessman, publisher, surveyor, and inventor of condensed milk.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,347 km˛ (906 mi˛). 2,328 km˛ (899 mi˛) of it is land and 19 km˛ (7 mi˛) of it is water. The total area is 0.80% water.
