The Archipiélago of Bocas del Toro is a very famous tourist destination among Eco-turists and Backpackers. The most developed Island is called Isla Colón filled

with hotels, restaurants and facilities for Eco-Turism and adventure trips. It usually takes 8-10 hrs by bus from Panamá City to Almirante, and then 30 minutes to get to Isla Colon by water taxi. Another option is by local air taxi, which araives directly to Isla Colon in 45 minutes.

The Archipiélago consists of many small islands and its protected from waves by a coral reef. This fact makes possible the construction of nice little

restaurants in the middle of the ocean, it is truly an amazing sight. Water taxi is your main form of transportation between island and it is highly recomended to go and explore a few, the best beaches are virgin Islands with crystal clear caribean water only accesible by Panga, small, locally made wooden boats. Snorkling and non-powered water activities are widely available and recomended, lobster fishing is also great.
